APsaA Member Awarded Purpose Prize

APsaA member Dr. Judith Broder was recently awarded the prestigious Purpose Prize by Civic Ventures, a non-profit think tank devoted to baby boomers, work, and social purpose. Dr. Broder, of Los Angeles, CA, received $100,000 for her work on The Soldiers Project, which provides free, confidential and unlimited therapy to American military service members and their families.

2010-2011 Fellowship Program

The Fellowship Program seeks outstanding psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and academics currently in training or at an early stage in their careers. Competitive applicants will have a curiosity about how the mind works, and an interest in how psychoanalytic ideas may be pertinent to their discipline and field of interest. A demonstration of leadership potential is desirable.

APsaA Supports Kerry Proposal

APsaA signed a letter in support of Senator John Kerry's proposal to ensure that health plans offered in the health insurance exchanges represent the best value for consumers and taxpayers. His proposal to allow states to negotiate with plans in the exchange, rather than simply to accept all licensed health plans, will
give states an important tool to control the rise of health care costs over the long term.
