 The Research Associates of the American Psychoanalytic Association (RAAPA) is a category of association for research scientists, research oriented clinicians and others with an interest in psychoanalytically oriented research.  RAAPA’s mission is to promote the development of empirical investigations of psychoanalytic theory and treatment.  RAAPA fosters the collaboration and communication of research developments and results among its Associates.

Yearly enrollment fee: $40.00.

 

·         Reduced Registration Fees & Advance Notification of APsaA’s Meetings

 

·         Subscriptions to the APsaA quarterly magazine, The American Psychoanalyst

 

·         Reduced Subscription Rate to the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association (JAPA)

 

·         RAAPA facilitates an annual day-long Research Forum during APsaA’s Winter Meeting.  The forum has two to three structured presentations and includes time for short presentations and discussions of new and ongoing work by Research Associates.  Advance Research Forum announcements and agendas are sent out to RAAPA’s associates.

An annual Poster Session is held during APsaA’s Winter Meeting where varied clinical investigators present their research in a poster format enabling the audience to speak directly with the authors and have an opportunity to see information on several different research endeavors at the same time.

 

Call for Poster Session Research Submissions for APsaA’s Winter 2008 Meeting

Deadline October 1, 2007

The Subcommittee on Posters and Research Symposia invites submissions with conceptual and/or empirical relevance to psychoanalytic theory, technique, aspects of practice, and effectiveness of psychoanalysis.  Of special interest is interdisciplinary scholarship addressing research questions in ‘neighboring fields’ – including developmental and social psychology, family psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, sociology, literary criticism, as well as historical studies, history of ideas and art history.  Details about the Poster Session are available by contacting any of the Poster Session Chairs:
